Laura Smith

Laura’s work as a geotechnical engineer has embedded her experience on a broad range of land and building development projects.

Since joining the Riley team, she has been involved in a variety of geotechnical projects including:
• stability analysis
• foundation engineering
• forensic investigation
• liquefaction analysis.

Laura’s core skills lie in geotechnical engineering. She has undertaken investigations for industrial, commercial and residential sites for councils and private clients, and worked on projects in both Auckland and Canterbury.

As well as managing fieldwork teams, Laura carries out design, reporting and supervision during construction. She takes an active interest in health and safety issues.

OUTSIDE WORK: Laura enjoys playing netball and exploring the outdoors with her family.
