Simon Orgias
Senior Engineering Geologist
Simon has followed up his Master’s Degree in Geology with more than 17 years’ experience as an engineering geologist. This includes work on many residential and commercial projects in New Zealand and the Pacific.
He has monitored construction for tunnelling projects and carried out investigations for dams, wind farms, quarries and large resorts. He has also given input on varied land development and infrastructure projects for coastal sites.
Simon’s skills cover engineering geology and geotechnical assessments for:
• slope stability
• stability enhancement
• retaining wall design
• foundation design.
This work involves geological and geomorphic mapping and subsurface investigation techniques, including interpreting and analysing borehole, test pit and cone penetration test data.
