Our water resources team comprises a strong group of engineers with wide-ranging experience, making Riley one of New Zealand’s leading water resource engineering companies.
 

Riley staff are proud to be registered among the first group of Recognised Engineers part of the Building (Dam Safety) Regulations 2022. This continues our commitment to leading the way dams are safely managed in New Zealand.

 

Paul Rivett, Project Director - Water Resources, is a Recognised Engineer and Engineering Practice Area Assessor, and several other of our dam safety specialists have applications underway.

Our expertise has been used by a variety of organisations including government, councils and local authorities, power generation companies, commercial developments, schools, ski-fields, farms and vineyards; and by private land and home owners.
 
Scopes of work may involve:

• dam site feasibility assessments

• potential impact classifications

• large dam design

• hydrological and hydraulic analyses

• dam safety reviews (IDSR, CDSR)

• dam safety management plans

• hydropower enhancements

• dam rehabilitation and upgrade designs

• construction monitoring

• contract administration (e.g. Engineer to Contract)
